Intro to ADV Riding
This MSF one-day course is a 6-hour Off-Road course designed to take a licensed rider on your personal Adventure Bike into the world of offroad exploring. The Intro to ADV course is located at Rio Bravo MX Park located at 11610 N Lake Pkwy, Houston, TX 77044.
Participants must wear full riding gear for this course. Riding Pants, ADV boots, Riding Jacket, full finger protective ADV gloves and Full-Face DOT helmet, (ADV preferred). You will be learning bike balance while standing up, tight turns, and off-road stopping techniques, just to name a few. This can be a more strenuous course then even dirt bike training due to the additional weight of Adventure Bikes, so we highly encourage participants to bring fluid and good snacks.
Course fees also include the Park entrance fee where participants completing the Intro to ADV Riding can take their newly acquired skills out on the trails for practice on the same day. Our RiderCoach loves these trails and will most likely be out there after class with his class.
NOTE:
This class will be offered once a month on a Sunday and will always be located at Rio Bravo MX Park. We are at the mercy of the Park Guidelines. If there has been rain the day(s) before or the day of the class, the Park will not open in effort to protect the integrity of their dirt facility. Student Riders will be contacted and another date in the near future will be set.
More than being the only non-profit motorcycle safety training facility in Texas, Safety On Two Wheels has become the premier motorcycle training facility in the south Texas area for motorcycle safety training for beginners learning to ride for the first time, experienced riders needing their M endorsement, and one Intermediate class and one Advanced class for licensed riders wanting to improve their riding skills.
Our student population drives in from as far as Beaumont, Lake Jackson, Richmond, Rosenberg, Pearland, Alvin, Galveston, League City, Clear Lake, Kemah, Sugar Land, Katy, Hempstead, Waller, Navasota, College Station/Bryan, Montgomery, Huntsville, and Livingston. We also have students travel from as far as Longview, Tyler, Austin, San Antonio and even Corpus Christi for our one-day license waver course. Every one of these students have driven past other training facilities just to come out to our location in Tomball for their classes.
We know that as a beginning student who has never ridden a motorcycle or at best have very minimal experience, the thought of riding a motorcycle for the first time is a mix of excitement and concern. All of our coaches have spent multiple days in classrooms and on the range learning how to coach people into becoming safe motorcycle operators. And over their years of coaching careers have continued their personal growth by taking additional training to coach several different levels of motorcycle training.
Check out our Coaches page to get an idea of the quality of coaches who work for us.
We are located in the South parking lot of Lone Star College in Tomball, TX. The actual address for the college is 30555 Tomball Parkway, Tomball, TX 77355. If you use Google map it will take you the back entrance of the college off Zion Rd.
We recommend you follow our direction for a more concise arrival.
If you are traveling north on SH 249, you will drive past Sam Houston Parkway (99) and past 2920. Look for the Brown Baker Zion exit sign and get off. Drive past Brown to Baker. Turn left on Baker as it is the main entrance to the college. You will see their tall marquise.
Once you enter the campus.
Stay on Baker to the first stop sign and turn left. After you turn left stay on the road to the 2nd stop sign. You will see our black trailer to your left in the back of the parking lot. Turn left at the sign and park in the front of the lot facing the road and come to the trailer.
If you are traveling south on SH 249 from Magnolia, take the Zion Baker Brown exit and go past Zion to Baker and turn right into the main entrance. Follow above in the campus directions.
Our fleet consists of 8 KTM 200 Dukes, a Kawasaki K125 Pro, and 2 NAVI's for students wanting to ride Scooters only. These bikes are lightweight and ergonomically comfortable for riders from 5'1' to well over 6 feet. NOTE: Our training bikes will be too tall for students below 5'2". Because all of our bikes have fuel injection, electronic throttle, and ABS BYBRE brakes (made by Brembo), we believe learning to handle our motorcycles for new riders is much easier.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
