We are located in two separate parking lots at Lone Star College in Tomball, TX. The South parking lot (off Baker Dr) is dedicated to our Basic Riders Course. And are in the parking lot off Zion Rd, behind the water tower will be used for our one-day intermediate, Advanced, and RSL classes on weekends. NOTE: The ARC, and RSL courses should be available by July 2024.
Our founders, Dr. David and Robbye Jones, & Ari Garcia decided to establish Safety On Two Wheels as a non-profit to take the typical drive to make money out of the business equation. Our goal was and is to provide the best- in-class training, best-in- class motorcycles, and best - in - class MSF certified trainers. On a side note, we set a portion of all students tuition aside to donate to Lone Star College to be used for their students who find themselves in a financial need for tuition.
Dr. David (Doc) Jones D.D. is also our Program Director and Lead RiderCoach currently MSF certified in IME, BRC, BRC2u, ARC, and an ATV instructor. He has been an active rider since 1973 when he turned sixteen. His first professional training was at eighteen when he spent a full week at an AMA certified Track Racing Facility and graduated with his AMA Amateur Track License where he raced in the amateur 500cc class till he turned 22 when he has a horrible crash on the track. He left racing, but his love for motorcycling only grew. He immediately took up touring and over 50 years later has ridden multiple different brands and types of motorcycles across the US multiple times, and into Mexico, and Canada. Ask him how many miles he has traveled by bike - you will be amazed.
When Robbye decided to ride her own bike after multiple years as a passenger, she asked Doc to take the class with her for support. It was during that class in February 2016 that he realized he wanted to become a RiderCoach and pass along his love for riding and safety mindedness to new riders. He became MSF certified December 2016. He along with Robbye, Ari and his wife decided to embark on establishing Safety On Two Wheels in 2017.
When not coaching Doc is probably riding his 2019 BMW K1600GT, or his 2018 KTM 1290 SAS. And with Robbye on her 2020 BMW R1250RT they take road trips as often as possible.
Blake Harvey is MSF certified in IME, BRC, and BRC2u
Blake started riding street bikes in his mid-teens where his interest in riding took him into the stunting and street racing world. By the time he reached his young adult years, he had been involved in several motorcycle accidents and realized he need to change. After a short time in college, he chose to inter into the United States Airforce where he soon became certified by MSF as a RiderCoach and was an instructor on base in Minot, ND.
While still in service and planning his discharge to come back to Texas, he found us on Facebook to see if we needed any coaches. Once he and his wife Morgan moved back to Dickinson, TX he met with Doc out at the Tomball location, and they quickly connected. He went through the lengthy process to get his certification approved in Texas and then started coaching some of our Beginning Riders Courses. Although we offered to give him names and numbers for training facilities closer to where he lived, he chose to stay with us and learn from Doc how to best facilitate students in learning to ride a motorcycle. After a year traveling from Dickinson to Tomball, he and Morgan moved to Magnolia so he could be closer to the range and is a full-time coach for us. Blake is also a safety officer for his riding club and is currently on a 2019 customized Harley Davidson Street Glide
Ari Garcia is MSF certified in IME, BRC, Intro to ADV, DBS, and an ATV coach. He and Laurel have been friends with Doc and Robbye since 2010 and is one of Doc's best friends. Ari is also co-founder of Safety On Two Wheels and the main mechanic helping us keep our fleet of motorcycles working at their optimal best. Ari road dirt bikes as a kid in the hills and back roads of Puerto Rico where he grew up. As he got old enough, he got his motorcycle license in PR and has continued riding almost daily ever since. His love for motorcycle travel has taken him to multiple miles of moto-camping in PR and the US.
While a young adult in PR he obtained his Captain's License and certification as a Dive Master where he and his wife Laurel ran three Dive Boat tours in PR. If you have the chance to witness him coach a motorcycle class, it's clear his love for helping students learn new skills is both genuine and well-seasoned.
Because of Ari's love for adventure and travel his current choice of bike is a 2017 BMW 1200 GS
Daniel Devora is MSF certified in BRC.
Shortly after getting his motorcycle license, he got involved with New Riders of Houston Facebook Group as an Admin. The group's entire focus is helping new riders grow in safety minded experiences. He also became interested in track riding and took multiple classes to obtain his track license. Daniel is quick to encourage riders to take their desire for speed to the safety of a track and not on the streets.
After meeting Doc at a NRH Admin meeting and later at a Taco Tuesday event they soon became friends. Daniel came out to visit one of Doc's Beginners Classes and liked what he saw. He later visited one of Blake's classes and saw the same positive results. Soon thereafter he went through the lengthy process to become MSF BRC certified. When not with his family and three kids, or on the track, he coaches part time with us exclusively.
Daniel's current track bike is a 2008 Yamaha R6 and he rides a 2020 Harley Davidson Road King Special m8 114ci.
Nic Harris is MSF certified in BRC
Nic is a ten-year experienced rider who may be new to coaching but has the experience of safety plus a heart the size of Texas. His theory of riding is that he wants to ride as long as possible and understands safety is the key for longevity. And helping others in their journey by building a foundation on safety is his privilege. Nic's natural ability to connect with people is almost contagious, and his attention to details helps him be a very attentive coach. When not coaching Nic enjoys riding his 2023 Harley Davidson Lowrider ST with the 131 Screaming Eagle engine. You can often find Nic at one of the New Riders of Houston FB group Taco Tuesdays talking up bikes and safety.
Alex Cupial is MSF certified in BRC
Alex Cupial is a longtime friend of Blake's and they actually met in the street racing scene back with they both in their teens. Alex is still an avid rider but puts safety first in every ride. He is currently a school teacher and loves interacting with his students. He met Doc one day while he was visiting Blake at the range and the two hit it off pretty quick. After visiting and actually helping throw cones and listening to both Blake and Doc coach students he asked about becoming a RiderCoach. Doc got him into the next available Rider Coach Prep and as expected he completed the course with flying colors. Alex is a part time coach when not teaching and currently rides a Triumph Daytona 675.
